María Molina Calle

María Molina Calle got a BSc degree in Chemistry at the University of Jaén (Spain) in February, 2012.


She is a member of the research group since September 2012, when she started to work for preparing her Master entitled “Química Fina Avanzada”. Now, she is finishing her PhD, which deals with vegetal metabolomics in the development of analytical platforms. In this field, she has worked on: (i) development of an ultrasound extraction method for the obtainment of metabolites from orange peel and in the quantification of flavonoids in peel from different orange varieties. (ii) Quantification of steviol glycosides and phenolic compounds from stevia leaves and also in the identification of other compounds with high added value present in these leaves. (iii) Identification of volatile compounds from fresh and black garlic and identification of metabolites generated during the production of black garlic by fermentation.
