I obtained a BSc in Biotechnology at the University of Almería (UAL) and a MSc in Biotechnology at the University of Córdoba (UCO).

During the BSc I collaborated with the Genetics department of UAL, where I was involved in the study of genetic resistance to ToLCNDV virus in squash cultivars. In my MSc and PhD, I am working with Fusarium oxysporum, a phytopathogenic fungus that rapidly adapts to new environments, and I am trying to understand the role of transposable elements as major drivers of genetic variability and genome evolution.

In my spare time outside the lab, I enjoy reading, watching series, doing arts and crafts, hiking and playing guitar.
