I hold a BSc degree in Biochemistry and a MSc degree in Biotechnology, both obtained at the University of Córdoba (UCO), Spain. My academic journey has been closely tied to the study of fungal pathogens, particularly Fusarium oxysporum.
In 2021, I joined the UCO Fusarium Lab under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Sánchez, where I began my research career. My BSc and MSc thesis were focused on the characterization of transcription factors involved in the infection process of Fusarium oxysporum. These projects explored the molecular mechanisms driving fungal pathogenicity.
Currently, I am a PhD student in the Fusarium Lab, where I focus on investigating the effects of copper excess on Fusarium oxysporum. My research aims to uncover the molecular and physiological responses of this phytopathogenic fungus to copper stress. This work seeks to contribute to the better understanding of fungal adaptation mechanisms under stress conditions.
