Teresa Quesada is a full-time Assistant Professor at the University of Córdoba (Spain). She holds a BA in English Studies from the University of Granada, where she began her research stage with the MA in Applied English Linguistics and where she continued with her doctoral studies. In December 2021 she defended her doctoral thesis on language acquisition in bilingual adults (Spanish-English) triangulating corpus and experimental data. This thesis was awarded with the mention “International Doctorate” since Teresa did a research stay at the University of Thessaloniki (Greece), which later resulted in a fruitful collaboration with researchers from this university. After her PhD, Teresa started the postdoctoral fellowship "Margarita Salas" and spent a year at the Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main collaborating with members of the Romance Lab. Her research so far focuses on the acquisition of referring expressions in adult bilinguals, a phenomenon that has caused great interest in the field of Second Language Acquisition due to its complexity and difficulty for bilinguals, and has been carried out using different methodologies: learner corpora (COREFL and CEDEL2) and linguistic experiments with reaction times. She is also currently implementing an eye-tracking experiment, which is the result of her postdoctoral training. The research on this phenomenon and the use of different methodologies is aligned with the research carried out by the members of the ANACOREX project (see below) and BilinguaLab, with whom there is a close collaboration. In addition, this team carries out important dissemination work with the intention of showing society how we research linguistics and bilingualism.
