The goals of this subject are:
- To understand the concept of epigenetics and its field of study.
- To acquire knowledge of the main types of epigenetic markers and the molecular mechanisms responsible for their establishment, maintenance and modification.
- To become familiar with the experimental methods used to analyze epigenetic modifications.
- To understand the role that epigenetic processes play in distinct aspects of organisms’ life cycles.
