The Student Council is the body that represents students. Its main function is to defend the rights and needs of students as well as informing them about university life. The Student Council organizes numerous cultural and leisure events. Either on its own, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, or in conjunction with the diverse cultural seminars offered at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Such as: Avafes Seminar, Canine Seminar, Sports Seminar, Equine Seminar, Bull Seminar, Feline Seminar, Pig Seminar, Yubarta Seminar, Students musical group

Internships:

- Career-oriented internships. These internships are carried out on a voluntary basis for students enrolled in either of the degree programmes offered at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The internships are conducted at public and private institutions in the agrofoods and veterinary science sectors mainly in Andalusia and during vacation periods. Free-elective credits are awarded for students who undertake an internship and present a final report upon completion.

- Core coursework. Students of both degree programmes may conduct a period of practical training in various enterprises and institutions, generally within Andalusia. For Food Science and Technology students, these stays are carried out in industries in the food sector, while Veterinary students can do stays at veterinary clinics, abattoirs, feed manufacturers, regional agricultural agencies (OCAs), health safety institutions (ADS) and stockbreeding exploitations.

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has specific agreements which permit students and teachers to spend time at educational institutions throughout Europe:

- Veterinary School of Hanover (Germany): Places are available for students enrolled in the fifth year of their degree programme, to spend up to 6 weeks in one of the Institutes or Departments of the Veterinary School of Hanover. These students are awarded scholarships, as are the students and teachers from Hanover who come to Cordoba.

- Veterinary School of Maisons-Alfort (France): Students who have completed their Veterinary degree in the last four years and are enrolled in the Doctoral programme or wish to do a clinical postgraduate programme may participate in this mobility programme. These students will receive a grant, as well as the students from Alfort who come to Cordoba.

- National Veterinary School of Lyon (France): This agreement provides an exchange for teachers for a period of 2 weeks.

- Universitatea de Stiinte Agricole si Medicina Veterinaria Cluj-Napoca (Romania)

This agreement involves the exchange of teachers for a period of 3 weeks, as well as a 6-week long stay in Cordoba for postgraduate students.
